Karen Marissa D’Souza (38), wife of Vijay Francis D’Souza, daughter of Matilda / the late Lawrence D’Souza, sister of Michelle / Pravin Pinto and Keith / Savia D’Souza, aunt of Fiona, Calvin, Kaelyn and Kriselle, daughter in-law of Rose Marie / the late Adolphus D’Souza, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026.

Mortal remains of Karen will be brought home on Wednesday May 27 at 12 noon. Funeral cortège leaves residence at 3.30 pm. from Ujwal, Kuntikan, opp A J Hospital to The Most Holy Redeemer's Church, Derebail, Mangalore, followed by Mass at 4.00 pm.

Dear Aunty Matilda, Kieth & family, Michelle & family, and Vijay, My heart is deeply broken over the loss of our beloved Karen. There are simply no words that feel enough for a loss so painful and unimaginable. I still cannot believe she is gone. Karen was not just my childhood friend, she was family to me. From kindergarten through PUC, we grew up side by side, sharing countless memories, laughter, secrets, and life’s many ups and downs. She stood by me through so many chapters of life, and some of my most treasured childhood memories have her in them. Losing her feels like losing a part of my childhood and a piece of my heart. Watching Karen fight cancer was heartbreaking. She fought with so much courage and strength, and I kept praying and hoping she would have more time. It feels unbearably unfair that someone so kind, loving, and deeply cherished was taken from us so soon. Aunty Matilda, my heart aches for you. I cannot begin to imagine the pain of losing a daughter. Kieth and Michelle, I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your sister. Vijay, my heart truly goes out to you as you navigate this unimaginable grief. Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Karen was deeply loved and touched so many lives with her warmth and beautiful spirit. Though she may no longer be physically with us, the love, memories, and joy she gave will stay with us forever. May God give all of you strength, comfort, and peace in the days ahead. Karen will forever hold such a special place in my heart and will never, ever be forgotten.
