Fr Maxim Pinto (55),   serving in archdiocese of Delhi  (from Holy Cross Church Hospet Moodbidri, Mangalore diocese),  son of the late Henry Pinto and the late Lilly Pinto, brother of Jossy/Shalet, Precilla/George and Sr Severine, passed away on June 7, 2025.

Mortal remains will be brought to Sacred Heart Cathedral, New Delhi, on Tuesday, June 10.    Public homage and viewing will take place from 8:30 am,  followed by the Funeral Mass at 9:30 am.    Interment will follow at York Cemetery, Delhi.

 

 

Ordained to the priesthood on May 1,  2000,   Fr. Maxim served the Archdiocese with great faithfulness, humility, and pastoral dedication.   His contributions to priestly formation and education have left a lasting impact on the local Church. 

In his early years, Fr. Maxim served as Vice Rector and later Rector of  Vinay Gurukul, the minor seminary of the Archdiocese of Delhi, where he mentored and formed many young men discerning their vocation to the priesthood.     His leadership was marked by gentleness, wisdom, and a fatherly spirit that touched the lives of many. 

Since 2012,  he had been serving as Coordinator of the Department of Philosophy at Holy Trinity Regional Major Seminary, Jalandhar,  where he was a resident professor.     His deep intellectual insight and love for philosophy made him a cherished guide to seminarians and fellow faculty members alike.
