Herbert Lobo (45), son of Stany (Associate Editor, Divo Konkani Weekly) and Dora Lobo, husband of Myrtle Concesso (Derebail Parish), father of Carol and Crystal, brother of Allan, Rupert, Brian and Nester, passed away on Wednesday September 26, in Mississauga, Canada.

Born in Barebail of Derebail Parish, Mangalore, Herbert was a former employee of CCC in Abu Dhabi.

Family and friends can call at Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy 10, N of QEW), on Friday September 28 from 2- 4 pm and 6-9 pm for prayers and Rosary. http://www.turnerporter.ca/peel_map.html

Funeral mass will be held at St Francis Xavier Church, 5650 Mavis Rd, Mississauga on Saturday September 29, at 9:00 am.

TRIBUTE OF LOVE TO OUR BELOVED HERBERT LOBO We don't think we could ever express how much we cared about you. You were so caring, so loving and so giving and you had no flaw and were like an angel!! We still can't believe that you are no more with us, we just can't fathom that. You will always be in our hearts and minds even though you are not physically here any more, you are next to all of us even though we can't see you. You were never a son-in-law to our parents but a son and never a brother-in-law to us but a brother. You were a star attraction in our family and a role model too as we used to look up to you in our difficult times (financial as well as family discord) and you were always there to help us with your radiant smile. When we initially learnt about your illness (on 30.05.2007), we were pretty confident that nothing would go wrong with you, as you were a very God fearing person and along with us we knew there were millions of people all over the world praying for your speedy recovery . Little did we know that God loved you more than us and that is why all our prayers remained unanswered. Thank you Herbert for all that you have done to us. You will always be loved and greatly missed by all of us but never be forgotten !!! It was heartbreaking to get the news this morning about our beloved Herbert. My little son Gabriel would pray every night at dinner time for "Uncle Herbert to walk out of that hospital bed, fully healed" He is now fully healed and out of the hospital bed, and in the safe and loving arms of His Heavenly Father, who he dearly loved. I will always remember Herbert as a man with passion and zeal for a cause, a true example of an outstanding father and husband who fulfilled the purpose God had for his life with all he had. I still have a set of Tefal dishes he and Myrtle bought me from Abu Dhabi and will think of him every time I use them.

Canadian Mangaloreans lost one of its shining stars today and it is a very sad day to entire Konkani community in Canada! Herbert had tremendous energy, enthusiasm and zeal in everything he did in his life especially organizing, acting, ticket sale, etc., etc. During recent Kala Sanz held in Canada, Herbert was sick and still he took an active part in organizing and acting. He loved to make people laugh and enjoy with his jokes. I am lost of words to describe his talent and extremely sad of his loss. May his soul rest in peace and may God Almighty grant his wife, kids and all loved ones enough strength to bear this loss.
