Edwin JF D'Souza (75), son of the late Martin D'Souza and the late Stella Pais, husband of Jane D'Souza, father of Ruth Esther D'Souza / Sudhakar Prabhu, grandfather of Anouskha Prabhu, brother-in-law of Rony / Cynthia, Goldina / Clifford, Hermy / Louie, Yvonne / Merwin, Alwyn / Sylvin, Rohan / Rovina, Colin / Carol and Sharon / Alwyn, passed away on October 26, 2023.

Mortal remains will be brought to Our Lady of Miracles, Milagres, Mangalore at 10.00 am for public viewing on Saturday, October 28, followed by Mass at 11:00 am.

Sad to know our great writer who inspired young generation Vasu Valencia is no more. He was nostalgic writer with serious thoughts with deep knowledge of Konkani. When we were small 1970s we used to wait for his stories published in weekly newspapers like Raakno, Poinari & Jhello. TE AILYATH, HANV JIYETHAM, MONV ANI RAGATH, VINCHUN KADLELI PORZA and Bethlehem etc., to name them few top novels. Today he is no more with us, but his great books are alive. Very sad to learn untimely demise of legendary konkani writer Edwin sir.. I must say he was the one who ignited konkani literature in my heart during my highschool days and he was my role model since then.. I have read almost all the novels and short stories beginning with, Havm Jiyetam a unique novel that time which inspired many youngsters like me during those days.. One of his best short story was "A cup of coffee " Who can forget that story alongside many other great short stories? May his soul rest in peace..
