Joe was the second person, after my father Denis, to introduce me to science and electronics, with his Science Today and Science Reporter magazines at home when I was about 14 or 15 yrs. However, this is a small matter. If I had 5% of his capacity of the way Joe treated fellow human beings I'd consider myself much blessed in that facet of life. Those who knew him well know precisely all the things I mean. Joe also had a long and deep abiding appreciation for the King James version of the Holy Bible. So I find myself unable to better join words from his most-loved book with what he actually DID with them: Mark 12:28-31 KJV 28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
