Boniface (Bonnie) Mathias (76), ex-Batelco, Bahrain, husband of the late Irene Mathias, father of Dinesh / Maneesha, Disha / Gerard and the late Deepesh, grandfather of Amanda, Shalom & Dominic, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2011.

Mortal remains will be brought to Cascia Cemetery chapel at 2.45 p.m. on Saturday, September 10. Mass at 3.45 p.m.

Requiem Mass for the soul of the late Boniface Mathias will be offered at 6.30 p.m. on Sunday, September 11 in St Rita’s Church, Cascia.

Very recently I met Mr. Boniface Mathias after Holy Mass, at Milagres Church and spoke to me very affectionately. I just cant believe he is no more, so sad and so shocking, He was very nice person, soft spoken, so humble, and so friendly with all his friends. I knew him since more 15 years now, since I was in the SodALITY AT kODIABAIL. i EXPRESS MY HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES TO HIS DEAR AND NEAR ONES AND SYMPATHIZE HIS CHILDREN IN THEIR SORROW. mAY gOD GRANT PARDON ALL HIS SINS AND GRANT HIM ETERNAL REST, mAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.

Dear Bonnie has run his race well and the LORD has invited him into garden no doubt. I never cease admiring this man of human qualities great. Seeing over a few years at Morgan's Gate attending to his ailing wife's needs day in and day out with devotion reveals his greatness! He was always a true human to all around him.His is a light never extinguished but taken to shine brighter. May those who mourn him be consoled deeply - i share your loss too. Terribly shocked to learn the passing away of my friend Boniface whom I knew for several years since we are from the same Parish. Both of us are members of the Gentlemen's Sodality. Last Sunday, 4th instant, after the Holy Mass and fellowship meet at Codialbail Chapel, we came out of the hall together. He inquired about my health and in turn I too asked him how he was feeling these days - as I found him not his ususal self. Little did we know that was our last face-to-face talk. He was a very pious person. I know he suffered a lot in his life when his wife was bed ridden due to stroke. He was a devoted catholic, a devoted husband and a loving Dad to his children. When he was in Cascia, every month on the 1st Sunday, I used to collect him from a certain point (also Mr. Peter Gosal and late Mr. Stany Chacko) near his home and we used to go to Codialbail Chapel together. Alas, I sincerely mourn his death. May God give his noble soul eternal rest. Johnel Cascia
