John Mathias, son of late Alex and Angelina Mathias; husband of Eliza Mathias, father of Fr. Gabriel Mathias, OFM, Fr. Mark Mathias, SVD, Benjamin (Pune), Joseph (Mumbai), Tresa, Philomina and late Simon Mathias; father in-law of Basil Mendonca, late Basil Lobo, Mercy and Eula Mathias; grand father of Karen, Charlene, Joel, Jessica, Alan, Benita and Bianca; great grand father of Etan; grand father in-law of Rajiv Rebeiro, passed away on Holy Thursday at the age of 88 at Jalamel House, Shirva.

Funeral rites will be held at Our Lady of Saude Church, Shirva at 11.00 AM on Good Friday. 7th day Mass will be offered at Shirva Church on Monday, 25th April at 9.00 AM.
