Funeral on Tuesday, August 3 at 3.00 pm in St Ann's Convent, Mangalore.

Sr Rosie Alvares, A.C. (74 years), hailing from Urwa, was to celebrate fifty years as an Apostolic Carmel Sister in January, 2011. However, her illness of a long duration brought an end to her life on earth on 1st August, 2010. After her high school studies at Ladyhill High School and Teachers’ Training at St. Ann’s TTI she joined the Apostolic Carmel Congregation. With further accomplishments of completing her Hindi Ratna and Hindi Visharad as well as B.Ed. along with her service as a primary school teacher in several schools in Mangalore and Udupi districts, she continued as the Hindi teacher at St. Mary’s High School, Ladyhill High School, Mangalore. On retirement from service in 1994 she assisted in the National Institute of Open Schooling for a few years.
