Celebrating 70 years in the house of the Lord and now forever in His presence!

EDSEL NORBERT PAIS, beloved husband of Joyce and darling dad of Danielle, Samantha & Alden D'Couto, passed away peacefully and returned to the Lord, on July 4, at 7 p.m. in Dubai, with the blessing of his wife and children around him.

Edsel has been a parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Dubai for four decades and his life was truly a celebration of loving service to Jesus and his parish community. A leading member of the Volunteers' Sodality, a part of the Family Ministry, with his wife - a team couple of Marriage Encounter, a member of the Lectors' Ministry and a variety of roles through which Edsel touched the lives of so many with his caring heart and winsome smile.

Edsel was gifted with a rich voice making him shine as a talented actor, a teacher, a media person and a much sought after Master of Ceremonies.

Edsel will be laid to rest at the Jebel Ali Cemetery after the Eucharistic Celebration at St. Mary's at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, 7th July. We pray for the repose of his soul, assured that he rests in peace and joy in heaven. We offer our heartfelt sympathies to his grieving family and pray that the life he lived may continue to be a beautiful and inspiring memory.

At the funeral mass we noticed so many couples who had made the Marriage Encounter Weekend in Dubai. All these people were touched by Edsel & Joyce through their radiance and example and their talks at the weekends over the years. It is a great testament to both Joyce and Edsel.

We are all numbed by his untimely departure.

We are very sad to hear the sudden passing away of our dear Edsel.

The fond memories of him during our ME weekend are still very fresh in our minds and hearts. The living life of Edsel as a devoted husband and loving father have personally inspired both of us.
