Victor Rodrigues Angelore (66), well-known Konkani novelist and writer, son of the late Antony John Rogrigues and Carmine Rodrigues, husband of Celine, father of Lolita / Ronald, Veena / Rajesh, Santosh / Reyana, grandfather of Ralston, Renston, Nikita and Ayush passed away on Monday, July 5, 2010.

Funeral will be held at St Sebastian Church, Bendore on Wednesday, July 7, 2010. Public viewing will be between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm at the church. Mass is at 3:30 pm followed by burial at the church cemetery. .

Really a sad news to everyone who loves Konkani literature. In my childhood days my sister used to read us his stories published in 'Paynari' weekly such as Andhkaracha Khandhkanth, Rakthachi Bobat etc.

Couple of months back Victoraab visited my place and informed me that his well known novel "Paap ani Shirap" will be re- published in one of the konkani magazines. He further added that it is his wish and desire to attach original pix of "Kaani ashi mogachi" actors.I cannot believe that Victoraab is no more. Those days when I used to schooling, my mother was so kind enough not only to feed me but to get me "Rakno" weekly and I was needless to say waiting to read "Ragtachi Bobat" one of the GEM stories of Victor uncle. Oh God ! the golden writer in konkani literature is no more on this earth. It'z a shocking news and a huge loss to the konkani world. Victor uncle will be remained in my heart forever and I am proud to vouch that if I had chosen to ink some stories and songs in the past/present/future, the credit right goes to Victor uncle who is the real role model of my writing life.

I salute this wonderful departed pearl for his outstanding service given to konakani loving people and I pray along with my family for Victor Uncl's precious soul to RIP and he will be in the heavenly beautiful garden where we beleive that it is a peaceful place for us too a day.
