Fred Goveas, beloved son, husband and father passed away to his eternal abode on January 23, 2010 in Mumbai, India.

He was the son of late Marian and Magdalene Goveas; brother of Grace Rodrigues, Irene Rodrigues, late Rev.Fr. Edwin Goveas (SJ), Rose (Benny) Rodrigues and Jenny Saldanha.

He was the loving husband of Precilla Goveas and father of Lydwin/Ivan Lobo, late Octavia Goveas, Vanita/William Fernandes and Errol/Candida Goveas.

He was the cherished grandfather of Leon, Lillian, Xenia, Yannis, Danielle and Damien.

Funeral service and final rites will be held at 4.00 pm on Saturday, 23rd January 2010 at Holy Family Church, Chakala, Andheri East, Mumbai.

A good old friend and a good old face to remember and recollect after a long long time. Freddy was our neighbor several decades ago in Mangalore. We have walked to school together and have played cricket together in our neighborhood in Jepoo. I still remember his family very well although they were senior to us. Thanks to Daiji website for giving us the opportunity to reflect upon the past that was simple but nice and peaceful. May Freddy rest in peace.
