U Mohan Shenoy (84), owner of West Coast Book House passed away at his residence at Kodialguthu following a heart attack here on Friday, August 7, 2009.
An active member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in the city from the days when the organisation was set up here, Mohan Shenoy was instrumental in developing the RSS as its district convener.
He was imprisoned under MISA during the emergency in the late 1970s.
He was actively involved in the organisational affairs of sarvajanika Sri Ganeshotsava at Sanghaniketan here.
His wife and eminent writer Padma Shenoy, and sons R M Shenoy and Surendra Shenoy survive Mohan Shenoy. Home Minister V S Acharya, Chairman, Coastal Development Authority, B Nagaraj Shetty, Mangalore City South MLA N Yogish Bhat, Deputy Mayor Rajani Dugganna and others paid homage to Mohan Shenoy.
