Maxim Henry Monteiro (74) (Retd Sr Manager, Canara Bank), husband of the late Catherine Flossy Monteiro, father of Rainier / Melody, Dr Rochelle / Dr Merwyn Fernandes and Russel / Divya, grandfather of Aiden, Gavin, Joel and Danielle, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Mortal remains will be kept for viewing at the residence "Jordan", Lower Bendur, behind Karnataka Bank head office, Mangalore on Thursday, September 3 at 2.00 pm. Funeral cortege leaves residence at 3.00 pm for St Sebastian's Church, Bendur, Mangalore, followed by Mass at 3.30 pm.

Maxi Uncle will always be remembered as a quiet, hardworking and deeply caring person. He was a man who perhaps expressed his love more through his actions than through words. I had the privilege of staying with him for a few days at his home in Mangalore, and one of the things that stayed with me was seeing the love, patience and care he showed towards his grandchildren. It was a small glimpse into the kind of person he was and how much his family meant to him. He lived his life with quiet dignity and devotion — as a loving husband, a dedicated father to his three children, and a caring grandfather. His steady presence, humility and commitment to his family will always be remembered. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Heartfelt condolences to the entire family. Will will miss you, Maxi uncle

Maxim Henry Monteiro is my maternal uncle. He is the younger brother of my late mother Mrs. Celine Lasrado. He was a quiet, hardworking, humble person. He used to call me for lunch sometimes at his house and talk for a long time. I had requested Fr. Vincent D'Souza , director of CODP to offer Mass for the repose of his soul earlier. Eternal rest grant unto his soul, O Lord, let perpetual light shine upon him and may his soul rest in peace.
