Sadhu Shilanand SJ (86), son of the late Antony D'Souza and the late Cecilia Lasrado, brother of Charles / Flavy, Vincent / Carmelita, Vinny / Arthur and the late Richard, passed away on August 6, 2026.
Funeral will be in Bihar on Sunday, August 9.
Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Sadhu Shilanand. My heartfelt sympathies and prayers are with his beloved family during this difficult time. He was a true follower of Jesus Christ, whose life was dedicated to charity, service, and mission work. Through his noble mission, he brought hope, support, and dignity to hundreds of underprivileged and less-fortunate people. His simple, humble, and down-to-earth nature inspired countless people who had the privilege of knowing him. His selfless life, compassion, and dedication to serving others will remain an inspiration and a wonderful example for everyone. Though he has left this earthly world, his good works and the lives he touched will keep his memory alive forever. May his soul rest peacefully in the heavenly abode. May God grant his family strength, comfort, and courage during this time of sorrow.
