Sylvia Pinto (62), wife of the late Valerian Ignatius Pinto, mother of Vyon / Shanelle Pinto, grandmother of Blake and Lara Pinto, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Mortal remains will be brought to the residence, Daddalpalkey Bungalow House, Shirthady 5/1, Mangalore on Monday, March 30 at 9.00 am. Funeral cortege leaves residence at 10:00 am for Mount Carmel Church, Shirthady, Mangalore, followed by Mass at 10:30 am.

I am so deeply sorry for the loss of Sylvia. She was truly a special person whose gift left a lasting mark on everyone who heard her. I am heartbroken to hear about Sylvia's passing. Her voice was a true gift, rich beautiful, and so incredibly melodic. I have such fond memories from my childhood of her filling the church choir with her singing. Seeing her lead her group of singers with such grace was always a highlight for me. She will be missed by all our Mukka parishioners who knew her since her childhood. The song she sang on the occasion of her brother's wedding from late Wilfy Rebimbus album "Abdulla" will definitely live in my heart. Rest in peace dear Sylvia.

Cannot believe that our dear friend Sylvia is no more. She was always positive, bubbly, full of laughter and love. I used to call her as ‘Visiting Angel’ cause she made it a point to visit teachers, elderly people like my mom, even when we were not there. She never showed her difficulties and problems to any one else. In the last one month, when she visited India, we, college friends met twice and had a good time having fun, food and laughter. Our group will never be the same without her. She was a good daughter, good wife, good mother, good grandmother - a good human being with a very good heart. Our hearts go out for Vyon, Shanelle, Blake and Lara. Sylvi will be missed by one and all who knew her. May her beautiful soul rest in peace!
