Sr M Canisia BS nee Lilly Noronha (77), a member of Silchar Province, in the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, Mangalore, passed away on Monday, July 21.

She was a member of Holy Family Convent, Silchar, Assam. She hails from Fajir belonging to Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Fajir, Mangalore Diocese.

Funeral rites will be held in St Joseph the Worker Church, Kolasib on Monday, July 21 at 4.00 pm.

Heartfelt condolences to the Bethany Sisters of Silchar Province and the family of the Late Sr Canisia. She gave her life for the tribals of Northeast India and worked with much love and care for them. May she rest in peace. I had the joy of working with her in the Southern Angami area of Nagaland in the 90s. Because of the poor roads and inadequate communication systems, life was difficult then, but she braved it all. Now may she rest in the loving arms of Jeusus. We mourn her death but rejoice in her resurrection!

sorry to note about the deat hof my dear Friend Sr Canisia BS. May she enjoy heavenly bliss. Years back in mid 70's both of us studied B.Sc at St Agnes College, Mangalore. Very loving, prayerful and efficient person . Condolences to her family and to the Bethany Sisters.
