Joseph Ignatius D’Mello (100), Retired Scientist, CFTRI, Mysore, husband of the late Josephine D’Mello, father of Marjorie / Harold, Virginia / George, Joan, Vincent, and Vilma / Ashok, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022.

Funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 20 at 10.30 am in Christ the King Church, Virar West, Mumbai.

J I Dmello was a simple soul,down to earth, I met him way back in 1965 when i was a college student, he came to st Philomena's college Mysuru,he addressed us for catholic students'union,later in 1982 onwards for Konkani Christian Assn Mysure,last I met him at Secunderabad 15 years ago.May the Lord grant him eternal rest,my heart felt sympathies to d family'

Heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. Mr. J I D'Mello was in Mysore during his tenure at CFTRI as scientist. We can't forget his services to the Konkani community in Mysore. He was the founder President of KCA Mysore. I remember his concern towards the konkani Christian community. In 1983-84 when I was the General secretary, he was the head of matchmaking committee in KCA Mysore. when we were trying to get a slot in St. Phelomenas cathedral for adoration in Konkani on good friday, Mr. Dmello took initiative to meet Late Bishop Mathias Fernandes and got permission from 12 to 1.00pm. It is continuing till date. May his soul rest in peace.
