Jerald Valerian Fernandes (85) (Lawrence & Co), husband of the late Remy Fernandes, father of the late Rohan/Juliet, Preethi/Mervyn and Deepthi/Godwin, grandfather of Janaica, Rhea, Delilah, Deon, Delica, Ethan and Deola, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022.

Funeral cortege will leave the residence 'Jeremy', near CFAL, Kuntikan, Mangalore on Tuesday, March 1 at 3:30 pm for The Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail, Mangalore, followed by Mass at 3:45 pm.

I had first seen Jerald at Don Bosco Hall assisting his brother Late Fred Fernandes, the Konkani drama writer, director with stage lighting etc. They had a Electrical shop there in the Don Bosco Building. Later after my SSLC when I joined BGM as an art student in 1966, I met Jerald again. He was friend and supporter of BG Mohamad (They both had worked in Sharada Press together) and also an accomplished fine artist during his spare time, expert in doing very intricate, minute stencil cutting, creating artworks for school badges etc. More than that he was a great motivator to all the art students. His work inspired me to take up Graphic Art . All of us art students at BGM of that time will be missing Jerald. Along with my family I offer heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Thank You Jerald. Rest In Peace.
