Celine Serrao (80), wife of the late Louis Serrao, mother of Fr Ronald Serrao (Rector, St Joseph's Seminary, Mangalore), Helen Serrao, Sr Diana Serrao (Bethany), Veena / Austin Suares (Dubai), Stany / Anita (Mumbai) and Meena / Vijay (Tanzania), grandmother of Arantxa (Canada), Alister, Samantha, Samara and Viona, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.

Funeral Mass with burial rites will take place on Thursday, January 6 at 3.00 pm in Guardian Angel Church, Angelore, Mangalore. Funeral cortege will leave the residence at 2.30 pm.

As a tribute, please allow me to share few words on your mother that which you shared with me back in the year 1975 that “my mother gave you all wisdom. She gave you all love and care. From parents you learnt it is others first before self. From mother you learnt that kindness should be our second nature. Both parents suffered to raise you. But God, Mother Mary smiled on them. They gave them their grace and favour. Truth is that parents living a God fearing life. They know God and they both are serving God in their own capacity”. Almost before one year you also shared with me that “ Mama believing firmly in the word of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Gospel of Saint John which says: “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh”. As a result of this, Mama always longing to receive Holy Communion at all times. She lives best in the journey of faith in her life. She is believing firmly in the Resurrection of Christ and free gift of Eternal Life”, Dear Fr. Rony and now may she rest in peace with the Lord Jesus Christ whom she firmly believed in her lifetime on Earth. Am very certain that she is on a smooth and seamless cruise to meet her maker in the celestial abode. Now that she is there, she must surely be resting in peace enjoying her assured Eternal Life.
