Sr Neritta nee Florine Fernandes (72) of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Lumding, Assam.

Sr Neritta was born on 15.10.1949 to the late Joseph Michael Fernandes and Rose Mary Fernandes, belonging to Christ the King Parish, Venur. She She was a member of Avila Convent, Lumding, Silchar Province, Assam.

Funeral rites will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Lumding on Wednesday, August 4 at 1.00 pm. Due to COVID -19 restrictions the number of people for burial service is restricted.

Sad to hear that Sr. Nerita passed away so soon. Heartfelt condolences to you Elize, Pius and Lilly, and rest of the Fernandes family. Sr. Nerita was kind and simple, and dedicated her entire life serving her community in the remote region of Assam. I was lucky enough to attend her Golden Jubilee Celebration of her Sisterhood at Venur about two years ago, when she spoke well and in detail about her fifty years of service to her congregation. Thank you Sr. Nerita for your services to the humanity at large. You have attained your rich award in heavenly aboard, and rest in peace now.

Sr. Neritta is my batchmate in the Novitiate. Very sorry to learn she passed away. She was a smiling sister and very gentle in her ways. Condolences to her family members and the sisters of Bethany specially her province and community members. After the final vows I never met her. May the Lord grant her eternal rest.
