Joseph D’Souza of Kollam (Quilon)(Kerala State), son of Late Joachim Michael D’Souza and Late Florina D’Souza (nee Rodrigues), 4th child among 5 children, passed away in Quilon on August 25,2006 around 5.00 a.m. at age 83.

Dearest husband of Nellie (nee D’Souza).

Father of Valentine (Jessie D’Souza); Betsy (Peter D’Sa) from Bangalore; Dorothy Prisca (Ivan Fernandez) from Brampton, Canada; Late Vincent; Godrick (Noelene Rodrigues) from Bangalore; Egbert (Verina Lobo) from Mangalore; Ludger (Zita D’Souza) from Bangalore; Crescence (Carol Lobo); Marina (Cecil Koland) from Mangalore; Cynthia (Angelo Pinto) from Bombay; and Aidan (Preema D’Costa).

Brother of Late Joanna (Late John Francis Miranda of Bajpe); Late Magdalen (Late Xavier Sequeira of Pakshikere); Late Theresa (Late Bonaventure Miranda of Kirem); Hilary Lawrence of Urwa(Late Elvira D’Souza / Cecilia Lobo).

Grandfather of Livan & Anthia (children of Valentine & Jessie); Rohan & Noella (children of Peter & Betsy); Ashley, Adrian & Amanda (children of Ivan & Dorothy Prisca); Rhea, Ryan & Ralston (children of Godrick & Noelene); Kevin, Cornell & Marlene (children of Egbert & Verina); Lorenze (son of Ludger & Zita); Esha (daughter of Cecil & Marina); Casandra, Rosanne & Serena (children of Crescence & Carol); Rohit, Nishanth & Viren (children of Angelo & Cynthia);

Joseph D’Souza started his printing business under the name “St.  Joseph’s Art Industries” in Quilon in 1945.  The greeting cards with the “SJAI” logo have become world famous and are exported to all over the world.

There are three different branches in Quilon, One branch (St. Joseph’s Art Printers) in Urwa, Mangalore and another branch (St. Joseph’s Offset Printers) in Bangalore.

Two of his cousins, Late Sr. Olivia and Late Sr. Olympia and one of his nieces Sr. Miriam Miranda – all three Bethany nuns are very well known all over India for their service in education.
