Sr. Olinda Pereira DHM (95), Roshni Nilaya, belonging to the Society of the Daughters of the Heart of Mary(DHM) India Province South, passed away on Sunday, May 31, at Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru.
She was the daughter of the late Martin Bernard and late Lilly Pereira who hails from Falnir, Mangalore. She was the youngest sister of late Sr Bernadette (AC) and late Cynthia Lobo, aunt of Rev Fr Cedric Prakash sj, Bernadette, Roland Lobo and Germaine Saldahna. She was a noted educationist, committed social worker compassionate towards the poor, needy and the elderly. She was the founder Principal of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, and well known not only in Mangalore but far and wide, in India and abroad.
Funeral rites will be held at Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru at 3.30 pm on Monday, June 1, 2020, followed by burial at Valencia St. Vincent Ferrer Cemetery.
