Udupi, Jan 13: Abdul Gafoor of Kalyanpur has been elected as the president of Udupi Muslim Welfare Association. The elections were held in the annual meeting chaired by the association president V S Umar in the office of the association here. Former secretary Khaleel Ahmed tabled the annual report and treasurer Muneer tabled accounts.
The new committee for next year was also elected on the occasion. K Abdul Gafoor Adi Udupi was elected vice president, U Ibrahim as secretary, Mohammed Fayaz as joint secretary and Zakir Hussain was elected treasurer.
The elected members were V S Umar, Muneer Mahmood, Khalid Abdul Azeez, S A Shameem, Riaz Ahmed and Iqwan G Rauf. Iqbal Manna and Parvez Yakoob were included as additional members.
