Bantwal, Dec 26: “Though most activities were stagnant during the Coronavirus pandemic, agriculture was active. Additional 36% fertilizer was sold. Fertilizer was made available also by cashless transactions. The subsidy has been credited directly to the bank accounts of the farmers,” said union minister of fertilizer D V Sadananda Gowda. He was speaking after distributing 30 laptops to science students of Kalladka first Grade College in a programme held in Madhukar auditorium, Kalladka Sri Rama institute by Indian Farmers Fertilizer cooperative Bengaluru and Sadasmitha Foundation Bengaluru on Saturday.

“More importance is being given to organic fertilizer and Nano fertilizer by IFFCO. Nano fertilizer is distributed among 13 thousand farmers in the country on an experimental basis. The production has increased by 18% and the cost has reduced by 20% by its use,” he said.

“India which was facing scarcity of medicine has the capacity to supply medicine to 110 countries now. It is an achievement of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The centre is taking bold steps to make the most of local human resources when use of technology has become inevitable. The government is bound to provide necessary help for the digitalization of Kalladka Sri Rama institute. A scheme will be formed soon for the distribution of laptops to all the degree students of the institute through IFFCO and Sadasmitha Foundation. Several relief measures were taken up through Sadasmitha foundation during Covid lockdown. Programmes to increase groundwater levels will be taken up in the later phase,” he said.

Puttur Vivekananda Vidhyavardhaka Sangha president Dr Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka who presided over the programme said that India has the capacity to convert the world. “We should put our individual capacities to better use. Students should be provided necessary items to do justice to education,” he said.

State Apex bank president IFFCO director Dr M N Rajendra Kumar said that the discipline of Srirama Vidyakendra cannot be seen in any other institutes. “The education here has the capacity to mould excellent careers,” he said.

Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik Ulippadiguthu said that there are changes in education according to the growth of technology. “May the laptops provided by IFFCO help the students in their studies,” he said.

Kolar MLA, IFFCO director K Srinivas Gowda, Bengaluru’s Sadasmitha Foundation president Dr Shivaram, secretary Anitha Manjunath, Ifco Mangaluru branch officer Sangamesh M B, Kalladka Srirama institute president Vasanth Madhava were on the dais.

IFFCO Karnataka state marketing manager Dr C Narayana Swamy gave an introduction. A pamphlet was released on the occasion. Degree division principal Krishnaprasad Kayarakatte welcomed. Professor Vidya rendered a vote of thanks, Kavita compered the programme.
