Parish Day Celebrated at Arva Church, Aladangadi

Mangalore, Apr 26: Parish day was celebrated at  St Peter Claver Chruch, Arva, Aladangadi on Sunday April 25.

Parishioners offered thanks giving mass for the patron of the church St Peter Claver. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, bishop of Mangalore diocese celebrated the mass along with parish priest Fr Arun D'Souza.
 
Cultural programme was held after the mass. The members of the eight ward of the parish presented variety cultural programme. The stage function was held after the entertainment programme. 

Bishop D'Souza presided. Fr James D'Souza, vicar vara of Beltangady deanary, Fr Joseph D'Souza, parishioner and serving as priest in Varanasi diocese, Sr Lisa, superior of Holy Cross Convent of Arva and Fr Arun Lobo, parish priest of Arva Church were the chief guests.


























 

In his presidential speech, while congratulating the parishioners for the parish day, bishop D’Souza advised the parents that they have responsibilities towards their children. He urged the parents to educate children on behaviour and the lifestyle. He urged the parents to maintain good, healthy and friendly relationship with the children.

Bishop further called on the children to give more attention towards government jobs in various departments.
 
The prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions on the eve of the parish day. Aloysius D'Souza, vice-president of the parish pastoral council welcomed the guest and gathering. William Lobo secretary of the parish council presented the annual report. Joachim Crasta proposed the vote of thanks. 

Joachim Crasta and Jyothi Monteiro compered the programme. The programme ended with a family meal prepared by the parishioners.
