Udupi, Aug 8: The district experiences heavy rain. Most of the rivers are flowing above the danger mark. Floods are seen in several places. People in low lying areas are shifting to safe places.

Floods were seen here two days ago. Rain subsided on Friday, but the lakes and rivulets are filled due to the rain pounding since morning. There is a danger of rainwater entering houses in low areas.



Sauparnika river is flowing above danger mark. Navunda, Badakere, Arehole, Chikkulli, Nalkunda, Kadike, Nada, Senapura, Padukone rivers are filled above danger levels. While low areas are inundated, water has entered the cattle sheds. Chakra river and Kubja river too are flowing above danger level. Low level areas in Soukoor and Sarkal are inundated. Haladi lake is also full.
