Mangaluru: KCET examination - District administration releases SOP for students from Kerala

Mangaluru, Jul 29: The district administration has made following arrangements as per SOP regulations of Covid-19 for students from Kerala state appearing for KCET 2020 examinations that will be held in various examination centres of Dakshina Kannada district from July 31 to August 1.

The regulations detailed are below:

Students do not need any e-pass. They can produce their examination hall tickets to the officials deployed at Karnataka border and proceed to the examination centres in vehicles arranged by the district administration.

Students should reach at the borders mandatorily before 7.30 am. Students appearing for examinations in the afternoon also should arrive in the mornings.

Students should compulsorily wear face masks.

Students arriving at Talapady border should refrain from gathering in groups. They should maintain social distance and should not get into the buses parked at the toll gate all at once. Students from Saradka and Panjikallu should board the buses at Karnataka border. Students who do not maintain social distance will not be provided with bus facilities.  

The buses are allowed to carry only 30 students who will be ferried to examination centres. As there are transport facilities for them to return after examinations, they should get into designated vehicles after coordinating with nodal officers.

Students should return only on the buses in which they have travelled in the morning.

Students who have examinations only in the mornings should remain in the examination centre until the afternoon batch is done with their examinations. The students should maintain social distance and discipline as they do not have facilities to return immediately.

As the students have to reach the examination centres early in the morning and wait until noon examinations are over, they can bring snacks, water and meals with them.

Buses will be arranged for nine examination centres from Talapady border to Mangaluru. Two buses to the examination centres in Puttur from Saradka, Vitla border and one bus to the examination centre in Sullia from Panjikallu, Sullia border.

For the 45 students travelling from Saradka to Puttur bus service will be arranged for two days on July 30 and July 31.

On the Talapady, Kerala border bus facility has been arranged for nearly 400 students from July 30 to August 1.

Meanwhile, Panjikallu to Sullia bus facility will be arranged for 11 students over a period of two days from July 30 to 31.

The exam for Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannada quota students will be held on August 1. Although the exam is usually conducted in Bengaluru, amid the coronavirus scare, this year it will be held in Mangaluru.

As per reports, over 360 students are appearing for the examination at Sri Ramakrishna College, Mangaluru.
