Bantwal: Up to 100 mtrs lockdown must around centres during SSLC exams – U T Khader

Bantwal, Jun 12: “The department should declare lockdown up to a radius of 100 meters from examination centres when SSLC examinations are conducted,” said Mangaluru MLA U T Khader. He suggested that a preparatory meeting for SSLC examinations be held in the B C Road block education officer's office on Friday.

“The arrangements should be made well in advance as the examinations are being held during COVID-19 scare. The restrictions should be imposed so that nobody enters the school premises during the examinations,” he said.

“The examinations are being conducted as per the directions of the government with all the necessary arrangements. Buses are arranged from Bakrabail and Edamari for students arriving from border areas. Masks and sanitizers are arranged for each student. The district administration and the education department have taken complete responsibility so that students write the examinations without discomfort. Therefore, students should write the examinations without any fear,” he said.

Bantwal block education officer Jnanesh held discussions with the MLA and obtained details for the preparations.

“As per government circular, there will be prohibitory orders till a radius of 200 meters from examination centres. As all the precautions are taken with regard to students, there is no need to be afraid,” said block education officer Jnanesh. He said that another meeting in this connection has been scheduled at the office of the tahsildar on Monday, June 15 at 11 am.
