Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (HB/EP)

Udupi, May 28: Heroor Nagarika Horata Samithi and members of Vidyuth Balakedarara Vedike in Brahmavar have alleged that MESCOM is charging excess from consumers. They submitted a request to MESCOM assistant executive engineer Nayana on Thursday, May 28 urging to review the bills and threatening to hold protests if the problem is not solved within the next seven days.

"People all over the country are facing hardship due to COVID-19 menace. MESCOM personnel are issuing bills with excessive charges in the name of coronavirus," alleged Horata Samithi secretary Sadashiva Shetty.

"It is not right to levy double of the usual charges just because the meter readers could not go from house to house for readings due to the virus scare. They are charging additional amount even from those who have already made the payment," he said.

Barkur Sathish Poojary, Arun Bhandary, Vishwanath Shetty, Dinesh Devadiga, Uday Kamath, Ramakrishna Haradi, Arun Kumar, Harischandra Poojary and others were present.

Kindly request the concerned electric company to explain how the bill is raised for 2/3 months.Let their be only one or two persons to answer their questions politely. If any difference arises of any huge amount then they can refer to higher and rightful department to solve.

From the last 2 months i paid online bills...
    Very nice..
First week of month, just call their office, give RR number and correct meter readings, they generate online bill..
Later we can see bill online and make payments online..
    Very useful!
    No tension
