Udupi: ICYM Udyavara golden jubilee committee distributes food kits to needy

Udupi, Apr 27: ICYM Udyavar of St Francis Xavier church of Udyavar, which is celebrating its golden jubilee year, has planned various programmes on account of its golden jubilee year. However, all those have been held up due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The committee distributed grocery kits to 103 needy families of neaby areas of Udyavar by visiting their houses.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr Stany B Lobo, chancellor of Udupi Diocese and parish priest of St Francis Xavier church Udyavar said, "God's blessings will be there on those who help poor and needy people of the society during this critical time. Let us be the light of those who are in utmost need of help during this period."

Michael D'Souza, president of the golden jubilee committee said that the committee will help the needy in the coming days and remembered those who donated for this noble cause.

Fr Rolwin Aranha, assistant parish priest, Melwin Noronha, vice president of parish pastoral council, Riyaz Palli, vice presient gram panchayat, eminent leaders of golden jubilee committee Jerald Pereira, Wilfred Crasto, Julia D'Souza, John Gomes, Royce Fernandes, Wilfred D'Souza, Eric Menezes, Maxim D'Silva, Lawrence D'Sa, Terence Pereira, Priyanka D'Souza and others were present.
