Chikkamagaluru: Ambulance-borne construction workers from Mangaluru quarantined

Chikkamagaluru, Apr 9: An ambulance in which 20 construction workers were being transported from Mangaluru to Davanagere was intercepted by Chikkamagaluru district police. All the 22 persons including the driver and cleaner of the ambulance were sent to the quarantine facility.

Police personnel from Balehonnur station who intercepted the ambulance at Balehonnur check post registered a case and sent the inmate of the vehicle to quarantine. When the people were quarantined and being counted, driver of the ambulance Basappa escaped and hid in a nearby forest. The people of health, police and revenue departments went in search of him and convinced him to return.

Medical officer Veeraprasad and other doctors checked the health of newly quarantined people.
