Mandya: Fearful of COVID-19 infection, farmer washes currency notes with soap

Mandya, Apr 9: A farmer from the district washed all the currency notes he had received with soap water, because of the deep-rooted fear of coronavirus infection. This incident happened in Marachakanahalli village in Mandya taluk.

The farmer had sold the silk he had harvested, to a Muslim merchant. The man had paid him the proceeds in cash. The farmer, who was fearful of coronavirus infection, took pains to wash currency noted of Rs 2,000, 500 and 100 denominations with soap water. This was recorded on video by someone and shared it through social websites.

This video has become viral on social websites now.
