Police on hunt to nab B'luru Asha worker attackers


Bengaluru, Apr 2 (IANS): City police are on the lookout for the people who attacked an Asha on duty to collect data on COVID-19, an official said Thursday.

"Asha workers will be protected by the police to carry out their functions. A case will be registered and action will be taken," said Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao.

He assigned Pulikeshi Nagar Assistant Commissioner of Police Tabarak Fathima to probe the attack.

Krishnaveni, the Asha worker, made a video of her ordeal, which went viral.

She said she was attacked after an announcement was made against Asha workers in the vicinity.
