Shivamogga, Apr 2: In a strange incident, a person who was missing from home for 12 years, was dropped off at his home on Wednesday, April 1 afternoon. However, in a few hours thereafter, he was found to have died.

The incident happened at Ratnagiri Extension at Abbalagere here. The deceased Manjunath (64), was brought in an ambulance from Kanakapura in Ramanagara district to Abbalagere here.

The vehicle went away after leaving him near the gate of his home. The lady at the home was away at her parental home. As his wife was not inside, the man waited there by sitting under the hot sun for a few hours and was found dead there.

When Manjunath was left here, the locals had questioned him but he had not properly responded to questions, it is said. A person who claimed himself to be Manjunath's friend dropped him here without identifying himself. The locals blamed the ambulance driver for dropping off an unidentified person without making a proper enquiry or verifying records.
