Udupi, Feb 17: Coastal HR's meet was organized by Sanchalana trust in association with Unnati Career academy on Saturday, February 15.
The meet was organized for the forthcoming Unnati Udyog Mela 2020 to be held on March 20 and 21 at Ajjarkad grounds Udupi.
Addressing the gathering, Dr H S Ballal, pro-chancellor of Manipal Academy of higher education said, "Paying dues to employees on time is a very important factor. Sometime people do not get job commensurate with their qualification. There is a gap between industry and academy. There should be constant dialogue between industry and academy. In India parents spend their money to educate their children so that their children should land on a good job. Getting a job is very important. India has a large population. We must make the best use of this. Otherwise it will be a demographic disaster. Provide good and employable education. Today girls are equal in number and performing much better than boys."
The Unnati Udyog Mela 2020 will be organized by Sanchalana trust and powered by Unnati Career academy in association with Mangalore University. The job fair will be a digitalized process. Candidates and HR departments of companies can register themselves online on www.unnathijobs.com or www.unnathi.careers. The job fair will be held in Mahatma Gandhi stadium Ajjarkadu here. This project will be extended to Kodagu also in order to give opportunity. The age limit will be between 18-40 years and any graduates can participate in the mela. Sanchalana conducted training programmes for the candidates.
Speaking on the occasion, B N Amin, general manager, HR Prakash Retail Pvt Ltd said, "Today everyone is saying that there is unemployment. It is a hunting business for us to get the manpower. Today people donot love their jobs. It is very difficult to retain the employees."
SriKrishna Rao Kodancha, president Udupi chamber of commerce and Industry said, "Today all the businesses in Udupi lack man power. We are preparing students to take up white colllar jobs. Job should be given to the satisfaction to all."
Rajalaxmi Anandan of Unnanthi Career, Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, advocate, Prem Prasad Shetty, president, Sanchalana trust and MD Unnathi Academy, Harikrishna Bhat and Vallabha Bhat were present.
