Cracks emerge among Shaheen Bagh protestors

New Delhi, Feb 17 (IANS): Cracks have started to emerge among the Shaheen Bagh protestors with several of them trying to grab the media attention and showcase themselves as leaders.

On Sunday, a large number of activists gathered at Shaheen Bagh and decided to visit Home Minister Amit Shah's house to take up the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) with him. However, they didn't get the permission to march to his house.

It caused perplexity among agitators. Some protestors tried to lead the flock only to deepen the bewilderment. The women protestors, in particular, were baffled due to all this.

Competition among protestors that who will take the lead, led to exchange of some words among them.

Earlier, it had been decided that only elderly women would talk to DCP R.P. Meena and Additional DCP Kumar Gyanesh.

Sarwari and Bilkis, two of the elderly women, sought permission from the police officers to carry out the march. The DCP told them their plea had been forwarded to the Delhi Police headquarters. They would be allowed to march under security only when the permission was received, the DCP said.

While the women were talking to the police officers, few protestors said there should be a committee to take decision on everything. All this just exposed the developing cracks.

Meanwhile, the protestors are continuing with their peaceful protest at Shaheen Bagh waiting for the Supreme Court verdict on Monday.

Every body is aware why the protests are taking place not only in Shaheen Bagh, also, at many cities of the country.

When my Muslim friend Nawaz, Christian friends Jossey n you and myself are not affected in anyway by CAA, why should I protest against it.

As such why any Indian has to protest against it?

What is wrong in providing asylum to the persecuted Hindus, Christians, parsis and sikhs from Pakistan?

Shankar, you are a selfish guy.

First the myth about CAA. its about giving citizen ship not to take citizen ship. but all of us know why the BJP government brought this act in hurry and president got it signed all within two days. The citizen act of 1959 and Government can give citizenship to anybody they want ( paki's can get even if you dont mention the names of the religion for example Salma Aga, Adnan Sami even though muslims are left out under CAA).
Tthen why CAA required. CAA was required to give citizenship to INDIANS who are not been proved their citizenship through the NRC process and leftout. in Assam out of 19lac leftout 14.6lac are hindus and 4.2 lacs are muslims. Under CAA those leftout non muslim will be given citizenship as they dont need any records and only muslims will be leftout which is pure violation of the constitution, for that they are protesting not for them not for you ITS TO SAVE OUR CONSTITUTION. if you love the constitution you too join them in your area.

    Yes, that is the fact.
One protests for employment, one for death sentence to rapists, one for free electricity. Everyone will find a reason when they get free biriyani and 500 rupees a day.
But Congress and media project it as Anti-CAA protest!!!
