Panaji- Police arrest 30 for rioting at Goa Casino

Panaji, Feb 14: On Thursday police on getting call from Pride Casino arrested 30 persons for rioting and holding hostage the staff and guests. The incident happened at The Pride Casino, a plush hotel near Calangute beach.

Edwin Colaco Deputy Superintendent of Police (Porvorim) said Pride Casino group management complained to police around 3.30 am that some persons were holding the staff and guests hostage and rioting at the casino. Police immediately arrived at casino located in the La Calypso Hotel near Calangute beach in North Goa district, and arrested 30 people.

As per complaint filed over 300 people, including guests and staff members, were present in the premises at the time of the incident.

The police have denied further information as investigations are underway. Search for few more persons is underway.
