Mangaluru, Jan 24: The producers of two Tulu movies, 'English' and 'Rahukala Guligekala', convened a joint press meet here on Friday January 24, with regard to the clash of release dates of both the films, which have been scheduled to be released on April 3.

Producer of 'English' Tulu movie, Harish Sherigar said, “Two Tulu movies, English and 'Rahukala Guligekala', have been planned to be released on the same day, April 3, which has given rise to lot of confusions. So we decided to take a call and held discussions with the producers of 'Rahukala Guligekala' movie, and came to a conclusion that 'English' Tulu movie will be released on April 3.

"It is always better to have an understanding between the producers of two movies and arrive at a consensus on issues concerned. About a year ago, two movies were released on the same day. This time we have avoided it by having discussion with the producers of 'Rahukala Guligekala'," said Harish Sherigaar.

Executive producer of 'Rahukala Guligekala', Rajesh Kudla said," if two movies are released on the same day, it results in setback for Tulu language. It is therefore better to have a healthy discussion and come to a conclusion as we have a very limited market and face lack of theatres. So we decided to postpone the release of 'Rahukala Guligekala', date of release of which will be announced soon, as several other Tulu movies are in the pipeline and they too will be preparing for releasing their films."

Producer of 'Rahukala Guligekala' Anil Kumar was also present.
