Karkala: Karate star Janish Nazareth eyes Olympics, seeks support

Karkala, Jan 20: Janish Nazareth a shining star from Belman, is achieving continuous success in his sports walk in the field of Karate. He was born in Belman on April 20, 2005, to Anitha Nazareth and late John Nazareth and elder brother Anish Nazareth who from a very young age is a popular DJ in Belman. Janish studies at St Joseph English Medium School Belman.

Janish got interested in Karate at a very early age. From 2011, he began training and received 29 medals and 6 shields to date. Besides participating in many matches all over India, he is recognized as an international Karate player. In 2017, he received a silver medal at the International Karate competition held at Hyderabad and in December 2019 a gold medal at the South Asian Games held in Bangladesh.

 

Late John Nazareth took a deep interest in his sport and motivated and encouraged him. In May 2018, he passed away within a short period of illness, away from his family. Anitha Nazareth, his mother, a home-maker, is trying to play the role of both a father and mother and supports Janish to her best to go ahead in his sport.

Janish, an extremely balanced and enthusiastic child is greatly focused on his studies and Karate undergoing training by Satish Poojari who takes a lot of interest to fine-tune his skills.

Janish aspires to participate in the Olympics and is looking forward to support from individuals and institutions in the field of Karate nationwide, in terms of proper training and guidance to achieve continued success.
