Mangaluru: MLA Vedavyas Kamath lays foundation stone for breakwater wall at Alape

Mangaluru, Jan 14: MLA Vedavyas Kamath laid the foundation stone for Rs 20 lac worth breakwater wall at Kannagudde, Alape north ward.

“Local people had been demanding the breakwater wall near Kannagudde Geleyara Balaga as there are a few houses above the gutter and the wall was on the verge of collapsing. Therefore, the work will begin soon as the amount is released,” he said.

“Mangaluru city is taking steps toward development after the BJP government came to power. Chief minister Yediyurappa is specially concerned about Mangaluru. Therefore, he had released Rs 100 crore soon after the BJP government came to power. The CM will be appealed to for more funds,” said MLA Kamath.

Local corporators Roopa Poojary, BJP’s Vasanth J Poojary, Pravin Niddel, Madhava Kannagudde, Santhosh Hegde, Raju, Kasturi, Sarika, Jayanth Kulal, Ashwitha, Raghu, Sathish Kannagudde, Vijay, corporation officer Darshan and contractor Razak were present.
