Shekhar Ravjiani pays Rs 1,600 for three egg whites

Ahmedabad, Nov 15 (IANS): Singer-composer Shekhar Ravjiani has been charged a whopping Rs 1,672 for three egg whites at a luxurious hotel here in Gujarat.

Ravjiani, who has crooned numbers like "Hook Up Song", "Radha" and "Ishq Wala Love", took to Twitter on Thursday night, where he shared a photograph of the food bill.

"Rs 1,672 for 3 egg whites? That was an Eggxorbitant meal?" he captioned the image.

The photograph currently has 661 retweets and 3K likes.

This is not the first time a celebrity has come out and spoken about the sky rocketing food prices in hotels.

In July, actor Rahul Bose was in shock after he received a bill of Rs 442.50 for two bananas at a luxury hotel.

    Did Hayaat luxury hospitality forced him to come to their hotel, did hayat forced him to eat eggs from there, and above all every star hotel have a detailed menu with exact pricing, its your choice not theirs , u could have avoided eating eggs from there and gone to near by dhaba for the pricing you looking for.

    The definition of five-star is something, such as a hotel or restaurant, that has the HIGH Pricing , highest rating. An example of five-star is a top notch, world-class hotel.

    These five star hotels think that they can charge any amount for food or for rooms in the name of "hi-fi" status. Govt has no voice in this matter because they are the ones feeding the Govt officials also. They are the ones who provide accommodation for MPs and MLAs whenever there is need to hide these politicians from getting sold in horse trading.

    Govt wants to refrain fees charged by doctors and hospitals only. This is because the Govt officials think that the doctors who struggle for 17 to 19 years to get specialist education have no voice and they will anyway not bribe someone.
    They want to encourage quacks in place of doctors because they can at least get some returns from such people.

    Haven't you all heard about one egg was bought for Rs.5000/- in a auction held on Mission Sunday this year in one of the parishes of our dioceses. Don't we deserve more tweets than this guy Singer Composer Sheker Ravjiani?
