Mangaluru: Srinivas University organizes international conference on Nanotechnology

Mangaluru, Oct 20: Srinivas University organized a two-day international conference on Nanotechnology at Srinivas Hotel.

This programme was inaugurated by Dr K Byrappa – Former vice-chancellor of Mangalore University and pro-vice chancellor of Adichuncnagiri University. He was appreciative about the international conference on Nanotechnology conducted at Srinivas University. He said that any university without research does not have a
future. Srinivas University conducts a good amount of research and also works in nanotechnology field. He wished for more research at Srinivas University and stressed on ancient science, nanomedicines etc.

Guest of honor was Dr V P N Nampoori Emeritus Professor, International School of Photonics, Cochin University of Science & Technology, Cochin who said that Nanotechnology is not a new technology and our elders in ancient times used gold nano particles and silver nano particles at varous levels. Prasad Rao, assistant patent officer, Chennai, Dr Kalappa Prashanta from France and Vivek Anand Sagar from Karnataka Council for Science and Technology were present at the conference.

C A A Ragahvenrda Rao, chancellor said that the university offers very unique courses and will uplift the human values in society. Dr A Srinvas Rao, pro-vice-chancellor expressed his best wishes to all the participants. Around 200 research scholars, scientists, students from France, Japan, Dubai, Malaysia and all the other parts of the country participated in the conference.

Dr P S Aithal welcomed the gathering and said that Srinivas University conducted 20 National conferences and 2 international conferences this year. Dr Praveen, convener gave a brief introduction about the conference and also added that Srinivas University is the best research university in India. Dr Anil Kumar registrar expressed the vote of thanks. Prof Rohan David Fernendez and Delisha were the masters of ceremony and Dinakar did the invocation.

The programme is associated with Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, Karnataka Govt, Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre, govt of Karnataka, department of Promotion of Industry and internal trade, Govt of India are the knowledge partners for this event.
