Puttur: Blood donation camp held under the aegis of Blood helpline Karnataka

Puttur, Oct 13: A successful blood donation camp was held on Saturday, October 12 at Kille grounds of the town under the aegis of Blood helpline Karnataka and official sponsorship of HDFC Bank, Mangaluru with the active participation of KMC hospital Mangaluru. This camp was held in memory of Late Marhoom Hamza Afnan.

The camp was inaugurated by Hemanath Shetty, convenor of Ramakrishna Girls' High School Puttur. The stage programme was presided over by Basheer Koornadka, president of SDPI, Puttur town committee.

Khatib of Majlisunnoor Juma Masjid Bappalige Ahmed Nayeem Faizi led the prayers and said that God will always help those who help people in difficulties. There is need of more broad-minded people in the society today. Riaz Farangipet was the chief guest of the occasion.

84 people donated their blood during the camp. Medical officers and staff of KMC hosptial helped in collecting the blood from the donors. Ashraf Arabi Kalladka compered the event.
