Goa: Congress slams state govt for duplicate entries in online job portal

Panaji, Sep 23: State Congress president Girish Chodankar, on Saturday cracked the whip in the state government’s claims of being transparent in the online employment registration process and claimed that there are instances of individuals getting multiple registrations. He even displayed proof of multiple employment and registration cards issued by the government to a single person.

Congress also alleged that the verification process is not done correctly by the labour and employment department. Complaining about the live registration system, Chodankar said, “Many non-Goans must have registered their employment cards with 15-year residence certificates and as OBC/ST/SC by using caste certificates issued by other state governments, which they are not supposed to do.”

“The chief minister should launch an investigation to sort out the confusion in this,” he added.

Labour and employment minister Rohan Khaunte launched the online job portal system in February to weed out duplicate entries and made it mandatory for jobseekers to register online.
