Udupi: Hindi Diwas celebrated at Milagres English Medium School

Udupi, Sep 21: To commemorate and respect the national language and to imbibe interest for Hindi language in students, Hindi Divas was celebrated on September 19 at Milagres English Medium School near here for primary and high school separately.

Technically Hindi Diwas falls on September 14 every year. On account of this, the Hindi Sabha of Primary and High School held special assemblies. Competitions like Hindi patriotic Song, Hindi Elocution, Hindi Dictation, Hindi Poetry competitions were organized for students.Charts with information about stalwarts in Hindi literature were displayed in the hall.

Precilla Lobo was the chief guest. Irine Vas of Hindi Sabha presided over the programme. Veera D’Silva, headmistress and Fr Lancy Fernandes SJ, headmaster were present on the dais.



Addressing the gathering, Precilla enlightened the students with various insights into the novelty and beauty of Hindi language. She said that along with English, Hindi plays a major role in communicating effectively as an Indian.

The winners were awarded attractive prizes and certificates. Besides this, the students put up a cultural programme.

Avni compered the programme. Adroy welcomed the gathering and Karthik rendered the vote of thanks.
