Sullia: Shivakumar's fans perform oblations for his welfare

Sullia, Sep 18: Praying for early release of D K Shivakumar from the custody of enforcement directorate and also for his good health, D K S Fans Club and Gowdara Yane Okkaligara Balaga performed Manyu Sukta Homam (fire sacrifice) at Lord Chennakeshava temple here on Tuesday September 17.

Manyu Sukta Homam (oblation) is generally performed to get rid of internal and external enemies. Senior advocate and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) former secretary, M Venkappa Gowda, after the oblation, told the media persons that the oblation was conducted under the guidance of Narayana Asranna from Panja with the purpose of ahieving improvement in Shivakumar's health and for his release from all charges.

KPCC former secretary, Bharat Mundody, said that the BJP leaders had misused enforcement directorate to act against Shivakumar. He said that he and other supporters of Shivakumar have prayed to the Lord to rid Shivakumar of the ulterior measures of revenge.

Gowda Sangha leader, P C Jayaram, JD(S) state vice president, M B Sadashiva, fans club leader, Dinesh Madthila, Congress leaders and others were present.

A 12-coconut Ganapthi Homa was also organized near the shrine of Bala Ganapati in Puttur Lord Mahalingeshwara temple apart from special puja on Tuesday, backed by prayers to the almighty to see that Shivakumar gets justice and his health condition improves.

Puttur block Congress former president Kavu Hemanath Shetty, was in the lead. Priest Vasant Kumar Kedilaya, offered prayers. Harish Bhat performed Ganapati Homa rituals.

A large number of Congress leaders and activists were present.
