Udupi: MCC Bank Shirva branch shifted to new premise, ATM inaugurated

Udupi, Sep 16: The shifting of MCCC Bank Shirva branch premises (air-conditoned) to a new premise and ATM inauguration was held on Sunday, September 15.

The programme was presided by chairman of the bank Anil Lobo. Parish priest of Our Lady of Health Church Shirva Fr Denis D’Sa, zilla panchayat member Wilson H Rodrigues, and entrepreneur C M Joy, were the chief guests. Gram panchayat member Hasanabba Sheikh, gram panchayat member Sunil Cabral, Shirva parish council president Wilson D’Souza were the guests of honour.

The new premises of Shirva branch was inaugurated by Fr Denis D’Sa, and ATM was inaugurated by Wilson H Rodrigues. The bank’s legal advisor C M Joy, inaugurated the safe room.

Jerald Jude D'silva, vice chairman of the bank and branch in-charge director of the branch, in his introductory speech, welcomed the dignitaries and the customers of the bank. He informed the customer about the stability of the bank and requested the customer to feel secure and to work hand- in-hand with the management and staff of the branch to reach new hieghts and to realise the vision of the bank.

Fr Denis D’Sa, congratulated the chairman and his team for introducing ATM and shifting the branch to the more convenient place. He opined that, life is about taking risks and challenges and that the MCC Bank team has believed in their ability and took risk. He emphasized that the service at MCC Bank should be cordial and with a smile. He called upon the staff to be professional and to have a work culture.

Wilson H Rodrigues, pointed out, that the country is facing economical set back which has posed more challenges to the banking sector. While he congratulated the MCC Bank, he was confident that the bank would do very well amidst these challenges.

Hasanabba Sheikh congratulated the bank for these changes and reminded that the MCC Bank is not a community bank, but a bank for all. He emphasized that the customers are the assets of the bank and should be treated in a friendly manner and with smile.

Sunil Cabral and Wilson D’Souza, both congratulated the bank and requested the customers to extend their support for the future endeavours of the bank.

Anil Lobo, chairman of the bank, in his presidential address informed that all the banking services available at MCC Bank at par with nationalised and other banks. He added, “We are in healthy competition with our competitors and have introduced services like NEFT, SMS Banking, MCC Bank Mobile App, Rupay Debit card, ATMs. We are not profit oriented but a service-oriented bank. We are the 2nd bank in the state to have an NRE facility in the Co-operative sector.” He thanked the gathering for their continuous support and sort extended support.

William Machado, who was instrumental in shifting the branch to more convenient place, was felicitated for his selfless service.

Stany B Castelino, as a representative of John B Castelino, owner of new premises, was honoured.

Karthik Kiran, civil engineer, was also honoured for the excellent work done at the new premises of the Shirva branch.

The valued customers of the branch were felicitated and honoured for their support and patronage for the last 22 years at Shirva.

Later, Lalaji R. Mendon, MLA of Kaup Constituency, visited the new premises of the branch and congratulated the management and the staff. He wished all the best for the future endeavours and projects of the Bank.

Rayan Praveen K, Manager (i/c) of Karkala Branch compered the programme and Lancy D'souza, manager of the branch, thanked the dignitaries and the gathering.

Directors Anil Patrao, Elroy Crasto, David D’Souza, Irene Rebello, professional director Michael D’Souza and general manager Sunil Menezes were present.
