Kaup: Khader accuses Yeddyurappa of pursuing politics of vengeance

Kaup, Aug 22: Former minister and MLA, U T Khader, accused state chief minister, B S Yediyurappa, of pursuing politics of vengeance for subduing the opposition parties. He said that this attitude does not behove of a chief minister of a state that has been facing umpteen problems now.

Speaking to media persons at Rajeev Bhavan here on Wednesday August 21, he noted that the government had entrusted phone tapping case to Central Bureau of Investigation in a hurry. He hoped that truth will be revealed at the end, and asked the concerned to wait for it.

Khader said that he and his party do not expect this government to last for long. "It took the chief minister three days to take oath of office after the coalition government fell. The chief minister took another 20 days to extend the ministry. Trouble has been brewing in the BJP ever since the ministry was expanded," he commented.

Khader condemned the BJP for neglecting senior and dalit MLA, Angara, while forming the ministry. He welcomed the decision to make Kota Srinivas Poojary a minister. He also said that Nalin's elevation as the BJP state president is a proud moment for coastal Karnataka.

Party leaders like Vinay Kumar Sorake, Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Navinchandra Suvarna and Praveen Shetty were present.

Former minister, B Ramanath Rai, lampooned Yediyurappa by calling him as 'Yediyurajja', duly pointing out that a 77-year-old person cannot be called as 'Appa (father)' and the word, 'Ajja (grandfather)' suits him better. He said the BJP's decision to make an exception for the age restriction in case of Yediyurappa has given rise to suspicions.
