443 held, huge cache of explosives seized in Birbhum


Kolkata, Jul 15 (IANS): More than 440 people have been arrested and a large amount of explosives seized in the Birbhum district of West Bengal during a district-wide drive.

According to the police, during the drive on Sunday 443 people were arrested, said a senior officer of Birbhum.

During the drive, 268 pieces of crude/socket bombs and 180 kg of ammonium nitrate, 630 pieces of detonators and 125 pieces of gelatin sticks were recovered under the Lokpur, Panrui, Sadaipur, Kankartala, Rampurhat and Md. Bazar police stations.

Six country-made arms and 7 live ammunition were also recovered from Sadaipur, Khyrasole, Dubrajpur, Nalhati, Murarai and Margram police station areas.

    If W. Bengal was ruled by BJP this incident wouldn't have come to light with 443 people arrested. Because TMC is in power they suspected something fishy against them and conducted state wide drive.
