Sullia: Rider killed in bus-bike collision near Panja

Sullia, Jul 12: Sheenappa Rai (52), second division clerk of KSS college of Subramanya died, when his bike collided with a government bus at Krishnanagar near Panja, Subramanya in the taluk.

The bus was plying from Puttur to Panja via Kaniyoor. Sheenappa Rai was going through Bellare route, after finishing his day's work. He used to travel through Guttigaru road every day. But on Thursday, July 11, he was travelling to Panja route as he had some personal work there.

Sheenappa Rai was thrown onto the road from his bike due to the impact of the collision and received severe injuries to his head. Locals got him first aid in a nearby clinic. When he was being taken to Mangaluru for further treatment, Sheenappa succumbed to his injuries on the way. Post Mortem was conducted in Sullia KVG hospital. The relatives of Sheenappa Rai have decided to keep his body for public viewing on Saturday.

Sheenappa Rai was living in Sullia since 28 years. He was working in KSS College for the past 28 years. He had a great sense of humour. He is survived by wife and two sons.
